Did you know that according to the most recent PIR data, Black children comprise 28.4% of all children served by Head Start? Every child should have access to effective early experiences and learning environments. For African American boys, however, there are disparities in the learning environments that have a negative impact on their development and well-being due to systemic racism and other forms of bias. The National Center on Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning developed this resource to assist educators with developing a plan and creating learning opportunities that are meaningful and culturally responsive to their needs.
